Barrister Nazmul Huda called upon BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia not to celebrate August 15 as her birthday cutting cakes.The Father of the Nation had created history. He brought the independence uniting the entire country. “Because of it we are appreciated around the world. So, don’t cut birthday cake on the National Mourning Day. Let us all observed the National Mourning Day on August 15,” said former BNP leader Bangladesh Manobadhikar Party (BMP) chairman Barrister Nazmul Huda.
Addressing the BNP chairperson, Nazmul Huda said: “August 15 may be your birthday, but don’t forget that the National Mourning Day falls on that day. So, don’t cut your birthday cake on that day. Rather, try to cut the cake on any other day.”
At the same time, he has called to declare BNP founder Ziaur Rahman’s death anniversary as government holiday which falls on May 30.Urging Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the former minister said, “You declare government holiday on Ziaur Rahman’s death anniversary on May 30. It will significantly contribute to alleviate division in the nation.”
Nazmul Huda was speaking as the chief guest at a human-chain formed by NAP Bhasani and Jatiya Gonotantrik League at National Press Club premises in the capital on Saturday morning.
